Technical Engineer – Solar Power
£20-23,500 plus benefits (negotiable)

This renewable energy company specialises in providing professional services to the Solar Power industry. Their expertise covers wind, solar, biomass and hydro energies, and this role is to provide technical engineering support and technical sales specifically for the solar power wholesale team.
The company is expanding at a strong rate due to increasing business and orders, which makes this a great time to join them!
Working autonomously both in the office and on site with clients, you will be responsible for the following areas:
· Supporting sales staff by specifying correct components for solar power (PV) systems
· Provide technical advice to support quotes and bids within the team
· Prepare technical content for bid proposals, web and marketing literature (including CAD drawings)
· Technical analysis of contracts relevant to your experience
· Interpret client requirements to find solutions
· Evaluate new products, working with the Purchasing department to ensure suitability
· Deliver technical presentations and training for internal and external clients
Essential qualifications and experience
· BSc or BEng (or similar) in Physics or Engineering, preferably with modules on renewable / solar energy
· Experience in technical sales
· Background in mechanical or electrical design
· Fully IT literate (much of your work will be completed in Excel and CAD)
· Strong communicator with the ability to sell effectively
· Troubleshooting technical queries from clients and colleagues
It would be advantageous if you have the following in addition:
· CAD experience
· Understanding of Solar PV (Photovoltaic) systems
· 16th edition / 17th edition wiring regulations
